What to expect

We are a church that loves God whole-heartedly and loves to worship Him. You can expect songs that are focused on the glory of God and preaching that is directly from the Word of God.  Our heart at Central Baptist Church is to make much of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Please feel free to come as you are, we are thankful you chose to worship with us and we look forward to serving you.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Central Baptist Church, under the lordship of Jesus Christ and with the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, is:

To share the love of Jesus Christ and the hope of His salvation with others in our community, our state, our nation, and our world; to minister to the needs of the Church fellowship and others in our community through the love of God; to teach, equip, and nurture each other and others for spiritual growth and service through Bible study and discipleship opportunities; and to glorify God through worship, prayer, praise, proclamation, stewardship, and a cooperative fellowship.

Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the lord Jesus Christ as our lord and savior and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the presence of God and this assembly most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church in the knowledge of God and His holiness; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, doctrines, and discipline; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to support the ministry of this Church.

We also covenant to maintain a devotional life; to train our children in the ways of Christ; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk uprightly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our conduct; to avoid all forms of gossip and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage; to abstain from and to use our influence to combat the abuse of drugs; and to abstain from and combat the spread of pornography.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay; and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.

Furthermore, upon departing from this fellowship, we covenant to unite with another church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s word.

STatement of Faith

The Baptist Faith and Message 2000

We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired word of God and the basis of our beliefs. This Church body subscribes to the doctrinal statement of The Baptist Faith and Message 2000. We voluntarily band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind. The ordinances of the Church are believer’s baptism and the Lord’s supper.
